Some things just don't happen too too often on other MUCKs. Here are examples of some of those things.
- Playing in a scene with three or more people, all of whom are using made-up pronouns.
- The gender of someone changes on a daily basis like the weather. (Gender storms!)
- Spontaneous concert jams. Sometimes with real fruit. Sometimes they culminate in gigantic explosions that level buildings and cause metal flowers to sprout in the wreckage.
- Two characters completely exchanging identities.
- Players resolving their own damn dramas without calling in an administrator. (Thank you! :) )
- Walking in and just jumping into several other people's fused minds.
- Having real emotional responses, especially ones which don't involve lots of publically traded insults or other negative drama.
- Having epic powergamer battles that result in stronger friendships between all parties involved and absolutely no impact on the place's history.
- Evading a mobile two-story building formerly a danceclub and laboratory that's gained sentience and is acting like a jealous puppy. A very large one.
- Playing charades with booby-trapped software kittens.
- Unexpected sentience is accepted, and even somewhat expected. If it exists, it can probably think; even a few things that don't exist can still get a word in edgewise.
- "Sex" scenes that you reread several days later and realize, whoops, there were never any genitals involved -- just lots and lots of emotional intimacy...
- Realizing as much of your character's background has been roleplayed out in face-to-face conversations with your friends as has been on the actual MUCK.
- Realizing that the IT of Puzzlebox has grown into more than just the MUCK and is different for different players
- Realizing that it is ok to be like everything else
- Accepting and knowing that it will all End
- Two words: Disco Giger.
- People are happy to have their minds regularly cracked or bent in little manners.
